Mixing Tchaikovsky’s original score with music by Duke Ellington, Glen Miller and others, NUT/CRACKED turns the sugar-coated ballet into a percussive piece of dance theatre. Bubble wrap, jazz standards, and takeout Chinese noodles get stir-fried with plain old lovely dancing in this sweet but subversive riff.
