THE GIBSON BROTHERS

FRI, FEB 12, 2016 @ 8pm

With multiple IBMA awards for Entertainer of the Year (2012 and 2013), Vocal Group of the Year (2011 and 2013), and Song of the Year (2010 and 2013), the Gibson Brothers are among the most exciting and respected acts in contemporary bluegrass. In addition to their haunting brother duets, exquisite songwriting, and infectious personalities, Eric and Leigh Gibson front a wonderful band that includes 2009 IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year Jesse Brock and long-time bassist Mike Barber. Last here in 2011, the Gibson Brothers are sure to bring down the house as they return.

ACCOLADES

"There are not sufficient words to express just how great the Gibson Brothers really are! Their voices are unique, beautiful and always spot on. Their music is a perfect blend of traditional yet new and refreshing, hard driving yet smooth and emotional. I love how they can tell such wonderful stories in their songs. And as musicians they are second to none! They put on a fantastic show at the Fletcher Theater that I traveled five and a half hours to see (from Maryland)...and it was well worth it!" Ticketmaster

"Siblings Eric and Leigh Gibson are at the top of the bluegrass pile…with innovative takes on material more associated with hard country (Buck Owens, Jimmie Davis), Americana (Buddy Miller, Steve Earle) and rock (Tom Petty). In Brotherhood, they salute the harmonizing brother acts…from the classic bluegrass  Stanleys, Monroes and Osbornes, to country’s Louvin Brothers and Blue Sky Boys, and the rocking Everly Brothers. The Gibsons hold their own with all of them."  The Wall Street Journal
